Jesús Loma-Ossorio

Jesús Loma-Ossorio is a member of the managing board of Covestro, SL, President of the Tarragona Chemical Companies Association (AEQT) and President of Chemmed (the Tarragona Chemical Cluster). Covestro is the former Bayer company, Bayer MaterialScience (BMS), which split from the Bayer group worldwide in 2015 and launched as an independent company under this new name.

Before the split, Loma-Ossorio was the CEO of Bayer MaterialSciences, SL and Technical Coordinator of the five Bayer production sites in Spain (the Bayer Healthcare factories in Asturias and Berlimed in Madrid, Bayer MaterialScience in Barcelona and Tarragona and Bayer CropScience in Valencia).

In addition, until 2014 he held the position of Production and Technology Manager of the southern and middle European region of Bayer MaterialScience polyurethanes. Previously, he managed the BMS Coatings plant in the Barcelona Free Economic Zone and later the production centre in Tarragona. Before that he had been assigned to the Bayer headquarters, where he worked in the Strategic Planning department for three years, and started his career at the Tarragona factory, where he held various positions. Since 2014 Jesús has presided over the AEQT, the same year as he became the first President of the Tarragona Chemical Cluster, Chemmed. He is also Vice President of FedeQuim (Chemical Federation of Catalonia). He holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Valencia and has participated in a management development programme at the IESE Navarra Business School.
