Felip Vidiella Salvadó, born in Vinyols i els Arcs (Baix Camp), has a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Barcelona, specializing in industry, and a master's degree in strategic market management from ESADE. His professional career has followed various areas of R&D at Dow Chemical, from research into catalysts by polymerization processes to the positioning of new products in consumer markets.
He began his professional relationship with Dow Chemical in 1986 as a researcher in the European IR + D laboratory in Terneuzen (Holland), where he had various responsibilities until 1993, when he joined the marketing development group at INSITE Technology in Horgen (Switzerland). Subsequently, in 1998, he was appointed Head of global development for the R&D group for soluble olefin polymerization catalysts in Freeport, Texas (USA), and three years later he took over the management of R&D in Europe for flexible packaging markets within the Base Plastics division. In 2007 he accepted the position of Director of R&D for Europe, Russia and MEAF, in the Performance Plastics business division, and in 2012 he was appointed EMEAF director of R&D for the Packaging and Specialty Plastics business, which is his current position.
He has been an adjunct lecturer at the URV, for the subject Polymer Technology, and is a member of various associations and working groups, among which the RDI Commission at FEIQUE and the Marketing & Management Division of the American Society of Plastics Engineers are of particular note. In addition to his passion for chemistry and DOW, he annually promotes a solidarity concert for the Tarragona chemical industry, which helps children at risk of social exclusion and mental health problems.
